Sustainability and development in the palm oil sector
Abrapalma represents and organizes the Brazilian palm oil sector, promoting technical and scientific knowledge, public policies, and sustainable development, with a focus on balancing production, the environment, and traditional communities. Working in cooperation with public agencies and institutions, the association seeks to improve legislation, foster research, and enhance the entire production chain, always guided by transparency, equality, and a commitment to social and environmental care.
Abrapalma – Leadership in Sustainable Palm Oil Production in Brazil
The Brazilian Association of Palm Oil Producers (Abrapalma), created in 2012, aims to make Brazil a model of sustainable palm oil production, promoting public policies, legal security, and access to technology. With agro-industries in 29 municipalities in Pará and one in Roraima, Abrapalma is responsible for most of the national production, generates around 20,000 direct jobs, and collaborates with a thousand smallholder families, encouraging sustainable agricultural practices, valuing labor, and supporting research for the genetic improvement of oil palm.
